Sanitizing Christ

November 21, 2018

The opposite of Christ’s love isn’t his power, but rage (read fury)!

I read an ODB passage that tried to illustrate Christ’s balance of his love with his power (over demons, or nature). Wrong! Christ evened out his perpetual patience and love with plenty of anger and rage (you can call it discipline). He snapped at his own mother while only 12 (for a totally defensible cause)! He began his ministry at Nazareth with a brawl (lol). His relations with the rogue Pharisees swiftly escalated, concluding in fierce name calling and even an instance of literal whipping at the temple!!

Why are we such gross hypocrites always trying to sanitize Christ?!
