Spacious dead-ends

November 1, 2018

Sometimes it’s the broad, spacious and apparently sufficient dead-end that prevents us from taking the narrow road out. These give us comfort, are familiar, easy, consoling. However, they simply don’t work! We know it’s a dead-end, for there is no progress, no way, no destination. It’s the forever illusion. On the other hand, although narrow and a bit daunting there is a passageway that leads beyond and we see it. For we’ve heard of it, we hold the map. It will take time, it will take effort, but the road will broaden up. We must therefore let go of these illusions and begin the discomfort, take on the pain. We must fix our eyes on our destination. In time we’ll get used to it, until one day we will reach home.
