The unforgivable sin

April 24, 2017

Jesus’ reference to an ‘unforgivable’ sin has been debated much. In my understanding here’s what I think: it is the simple refusal to admit truth as truth once brought to light, but for some selfish reason to reject it in favour of some untruth as one’s ‘truth.’ And the unforgivability of such seems pretty logical, coz first of all if truth itself has been shunned what redeemability remains anymore? None. Further forgiveness applies only where a genuine sense of apology is forthcoming. For without repentance/return even forgiveness can’t be imposed on anyone! That’s why admitting/submitting to truth is indispensable, and becomes the basis for forgiveness or recourse in case of former wrongdoing.
