Mere strangers

January 31, 2017

No, this world ain’t our home. We’re just passers-by. A lot of the greats in the past didn’t receive what was promised them: to illustrate one, Abraham. He didn’t get to see his descendants as measureless as the sand on the seashore or the stars in the sky. They, as the Bible so beautifully puts, “only saw them and welcomed them from a distance.” It even says, “…they were aliens and strangers on earth.” The better home for them lay yonder. For it’s what would last. It was that dwelling which was real. It was the ultimate and full reward for every faithful toil during the insignificant days on earth. Oh what blessing!
