Weak love

July 22, 2016

Yep, love covers over wrong. But that never meant it calls wrong right or gets a license to gloss over unfair conduct. Love is still love when it calls wrong wrong. Instead of ceasing to be love, it remains its very good self before/around/after administering justice. And quite contrary to what one might expect Love is caught giving a drink to the enemy when he is thirsty. Feeding him when he is hungry i.e. when the enemy is vulnerable, while serving his sentence. ‘Love’ that loves only in the absence of discipline is weak love. ‘Love’ that haggles to acquit the guilty or condemn the innocent (in order to cover wrong) is not love. That is phony love. It quite fits under the opposite brand: hate!
