David the adulterer

May 18, 2016

The law was cut in stone, any adulterer had to be stoned, killed, mercilessly put to death. And here we see David the King committing adultery and yet roaming not just free, but now repenting and finally being reinstated by God and pronounced as a man after God’s own heart. Says much about how God has always seen Law as a blind and brutal prosecutor against humans given to failing. It quite agrees with the love and forgiveness Jesus displayed with the woman caught in adultery in the New Testament.
