Technically right

May 17, 2016

A lot of us buy and sell lies. Fully aware that what we give and take is nothing but a bunch of lies. But this is the brand in which it is constantly bartered: Technically right (or at least ‘not wrong’). But not with Jesus. He sees it like it actually is. The elders and chief priests didn’t want to tell Jesus what they truly felt in reply to his question. So they hid behind, ‘We don’t know.’ Jesus (most interestingly and quite humorously) replied: neither will I TELL you my answer to your question. Note he didn’t say: neither do I (know) but neither will I TELL. There is no technically right. There is only one right: the true state of affairs. All else is deceit, a fooling of our own selves.
