When economy becomes a miser

The point of economy is to rein in wastage, to conserve, not to leave to disuse. When the need/demand/cause is genuine/appropriate/healthy, to refrain from using what has been hoarded up becomes miserly. The trouble with such behaviour is it strips all the good that can be hidden in economy: care, thrift, simplicity, even generosity!
