From an ant

September 19, 2015

An ant plans well ahead of time. It sees winter coming right at summer. And so it has spent time expecting what could come up in the cold hard months, what will come of its own limitations in tackling the harsh weather, what it needs to do to stay safe and where it could store its food for that time of adversity. It has chalked out a plan to find its food, work on getting it and then be done with it. It then set about its mountainous work gnawing away at every grain. Finally when winter came, when humans were desperately foraging for food the ant sat cross-legged by the fire sipping on a cup of tea with two sugars!!

Perceive, plan, prepare. You could savour sufficiency even at a time of deficiency!

(Inspired by a Sunday talk. ‘Two sugars’ – phrase borrowed from a book on skits, the title of which I’m unable to recollect.)
