Don’t destroy yet

August 22, 2015

If you feel no more use for the bridge, abandon it, don’t destroy it. Abandonment is passive, destruction is active. Abandonment is partial, destruction is complete. Abandonment is measured, destruction is excessive. Abandonment is wise, destruction is foolish. It is very common for us to kick the options that have no more value for us. And that usually for the moment. The rule is to leave any good, even all, yet left in it. Why lose what might be to our gain? Why lose what might cost us again? Unless you must, never destroy.
