Predictability

April 25, 2015

The world is neither predictably good, nor bad. If God was fully in control it should be predictably good. If man was fully controlled by God that would also be the case. But since man has true freedom, the world is not predictably good. Not that man is incapable of doing good, but that he is incapable of refraining from bad altogether. But the world is not predictably altogether bad too, showing pretty clearly that evil has no full and final control. Clearly God is able to interrupt the world’s order and do what he wants as he chooses and when. In spite of man’s best efforts, the good he searches for eludes him. Again showing pretty clearly there are other factors he must count. Says a lot about divine sovereignty and human will!
