What makes a worthy PM?

April 10, 2014

A leader is someone who has the right priorities. It’s not a problem to work on a showy hairstyle, but when there is a deep wound on one of the limbs, it is probably more important to attend to that first and then fix the hair luxury. Likewise with the craving for a richer India. A wealthy India must not come at the cost of the neglected poor. When women are unsafe around the country, the attention devoted to better economy must endure some distraction. Yes it will lead to one section of India being dissatisfied, but it is a willing sacrifice for larger good. I don’t mean to advocate some communist form of economy, but economic progress with a conscience. If our leaders have grasped this we can be confident they will do a good job governing the country. If they haven’t we will eventually wake up from the dream to a harsh reality.

I have consistently learned that people with sincerity do better than people with talent. I see an amazing quote I have gleaned fitting pretty neatly here: “When hiring key employees, there are only two qualities to look for: judgment and taste. Almost everything else can be bought by the yard.” Quote by John W. Gardner.
