Takin God with a pincha salt

July 12, 2013

“If only Ishmael might live under your blessing!” Abraham replied to God.

How easy it is to give God a concession! As time passes and faith in God’s promises begins to dwindle, we begin to take God’s word with a pinch of salt. We begin to feel His promises must have a lil twist to them.

Macbeth’s witches promised him safety until the woods of Birnam moved, but their words were couched in deception. Not so with our God! When he says something, he means it.

Yeah, sometimes we may not get all the mileage we dreamed out of our promises. There may not be the same crowd of friends 25 years down the lane to verify what Abraham claimed was true: that God appeared to him, and promised old Abraham would father a child of his own, from Sarah the barren, to the utter bafflement of every onlooker! But God’s promises did come true; softly, quietly, surely.

God doesn’t care about impressin anybody, but he does care about fulfillin his promises! Yo don need no salt for God’s promises! 🙂
