A Happiness through Tears?

July 3, 2013

This morning this thought occurred to me as absurd: why would someone try to attain happiness through tears? Doesn’t it defeat the whole purpose?

But t’was the flip-side argument that prevailed:

This is no ordinary happiness, it’s the delight borne out of excellence! An excellence that is costly, that is path-breaking. A first time that will lead many others to follow along.

Hence it must be discovered. Through tears. Through trials. Because there can be little rest until the goal is attained. The battle must be fought and the rigors withstood. But the sense of fulfillment that follows will remain unmatched because it’s been about the ultimate! Maybe that is why it is even proverbial, he who sows in tears shall reap with songs of joy!
