I feel it, but I know it

April 24, 2013

There’s something about knowing what’s true and right deep down in the depths of our hearts. Often our bodies, passions and instincts drag us along a certain pathway but our minds refuse because they simply know it.

After the fire stops raging, we know that we knew all along. There is a law written on the tablets of our hearts. A divine spark that needs no special search or discovery. To a large extent we are designed to discern. It is easy to know when we violate, when what looks flawless on the outside has (and always had) a fundamental warp within.

If you know what’s right, stick to it. Don’t give in to momentary passions that will leave scars that will plague you for the rest of your life. Fight to stay on track. It is because your pathway will get brighter as you do this. That little gleam in the dark will keep getting brighter till the full light of day. You will be astonished at how good and perfect it was that you stayed away from passionate folly just because you followed the law that God had always carved into your very being. Yeah, you may say but I instinctively feel it, but you also know it. Just do what you always know to be right. Boy (!) how much grief can stay locked in the coffin that way!!!
